RPM Army TBT: Turbo V8 Engine Failure

Kyle Moran Avatar

Here’s another one for the RPM Army Throw Back Thursday. Back in 2013 at the Hartford Fair in Croton Ohio, an unusual Super Modified Two Wheel Drive truck pulled onto the field for its turn. Its unusual because it was a turbocharged V8, where all the other trucks are traditionally supercharged. It seems like it could probably be a good idea if the driver manages to keep it on boost the whole time and the engine holds together. Unfortunately for the driver, it looks like the turbo gave out at the end of the run and blew oil through the intake. It ended his run in spectacular smokey fashion.

Over the years, this video has done pretty well, racking up over 16,000 views and being shared on Beermoneypulling.com, Bangshift.com, and CarBuzz.com.
