Gassers were a popular type of hot rod during the 1950s through the 1970 before pro stock cars became popular. They were considered stock appearing models that ranged from the 1930s through the 1960s. What makes them unique was the way that the cars sat, with a solid front axle and the front end being lifted higher than the factory setting for the cars. For Awhile the Willies coupes were very popular, but others such as Plymouths and Angelas were used as well.
