In 2020, Wyatt Waddle made the jump from Jr. Storm to Jr. Thunder. Moving up classes can be a frightening move for any racer. For a JEGS.com Jr. Dragster Series racer it can be an even bigger step as now you compete against racers that are older and more experienced. But this season Wyatt didn’t let any of that stop him, as he took home the 2020 JEGS.com Jr. Dragster Series Jr. Thunder championship.
The season kicked off in style for Wyatt and his team when he parked his dragster in the Winner’s Circle on the very first event of the year. As the summer progressed, Wyatt clicked off another win on August 1st. During the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Challenge, Wyatt again was able to take home the win and Jr. Wally. Going into the final race of the year, Wyatt needed to bring his “A” game and he did. He defeated everyone he faced that day and clinched his first ever Jr. Thunder championship.
“I have had a lot of fun this year racing with my family and friends. I want to thank my dad (Danny), mom (Kim) and brothers (Andrew and Christian) for always being there for me and helping me all season long,” said Wyatt.
Wyatt represented National Trail Raceway in the Jr. Dragster Race of Champions and was able to make it to the final round.
“The championship means a lot to me. It shows that all the hard work paid off. I’m looking forward to next season and racing with my friends and defending my championship,” said Wyatt.
Congrats to Wyatt Waddle the 2020 JEGS.com Jr. Dragster Series Jr. Thunder Track Champion!
