Pro Champion – Clair Reed

The 2020 JEGS Performance ET Series season is one that everyone will remember but for Pro class racer Clair Reed it was even more memorable than any other. Reed who hails from Little Hocking, got back into racing after 2 years on the sidelines and it didn’t take very long for the competitiveness to kick back in. There is an old saying, “a championship is a marathon, not a sprint,” well this year Clair Reed proved that.
The opening day on June 6th saw Clair bow out in the first round but after that race he only had one other 1st round loss all season. Clair took home 1 runner-up and 1 semi-final finish during the season. But it was Clair’s ability to consistently go rounds and rack up points week in and week out that propelled him to his first ever JEGS ET Series Pro Championship.
“I need to thank my wife Lisa, she has been there for me and is my biggest race fan. This year I had so much fun getting back out at the track and just getting to race with my friends and being able to make new ones as well,” said Reed.
One of Reed’s highlights this season was the trip to Indy for the ET Finals, he was so happy and proud to be able to represent National Trail Raceway in the Race of Champions. He had to make some changes to his car right before the trip over, so it didn’t go as well as he hoped but he still had a great time.
“This championship means a lot to me, racing in Pro bracket at National Trail Raceway is some of the toughest competition I have ever raced in and it is an absolute honor to win this championship,” said Clair.
Next year Clair plans on defending his title of Pro champion and race with his friends.
Congrats to the 2020 JEGS Performance ET Series Pro Champion Clair Reed!
