Being a JEGS.com Jr. Dragster Series racer in 2020 was a roller coaster of year no matter who you are. The biggest question was would the 2020 JEGS.com Jr. Dragster Series season even happen at all. That question was answered with only a few changes to the original event schedule. To Karson Tanzillo it meant that the race season was on!
The season kicked off in a big way for the young driver from Pataskala. Karson picked up the win at the Corona Nationals taking home the case of toilet paper and glass bottled Pepsi. From there he started to make a run for the Jr. Storm championship. Karson picked up his first points win on June 7th and he never really looked back from there. He continued his impressive form throughout the whole season. He put together an impressive run of 5 final round appearances in 8 races to clinch his second Jr. Storm championship in a row.
“I want to say thank you to my parents (Mark and Hollie), my brothers (Logan, Maddox and Frank), my sister (Brooklyn) and Clay Brown,” said a very happy Karson.
For the 2021 season Karson will be stepping up a class and will be competing in the Jr. Thunder class where he will get the chance to battle it out with his brother Frank.
“This is season was a lot of fun. I felt confident coming into the season as the defending champion and I knew I had to be on my game since there are so many good racers in the Jr. Storm class and new racers that were tough competition. I can’t wait for the 2021 JEGS.com Jr. Dragster Series to begin so I can hangout with my racing friends again,” said Karson.
Congrats to Karson Tanzillo the 2020 JEGS.com Jr. Dragster Series Jr. Thunder champion!
