1988 BMW M3 [ E30 M3 Homologation ]

This 1988 BMW M3 is a cool survivor, with the original paint and even the original clutch! The E30 M3 homologation exists because it was made for Group A racing. Group A Racing was a production based class, so each race car had to share its core mechanical components with an actual street car. At least 5,000 street cars had to be produced. BMW Motorsport first designed the race car , and afterward applied the changes to the road car in order to homologate the race vehicle. The E30 M3 street version and the E30 M3 competition car are very similar. We ran into John at the Exotic Cars and Coffee in Louisville, Kentucky. A big thanks to John for letting us look at his E30 BMW M3. Be sure to visit us on social media!
