One of the major changes for the 2020 season was the formation of the Quick 16 powered by Performance Clinic Series. This class was formed back in January and it turned out to be a great decision. The Quick 16 powered by Performance Clinic series put on great shows all year long with some of the fastest doorcars and dragsters battling it out for supremacy at the track
The Quick 16 powered by Performance Clinic Series was originally slated for 6 Saturdays spread throughout the season, but as with everything in 2020 it had to change and was switched to 3 double header weekends. At the end of the season when all the points were counted, the inaugural championship was won by one of the people that helped form this class, Ryan Burba.
During the first race of the year Ryan matched up with 2 time defending Super 32 champion Ryan Norman. It was a close race but Burba got the win light that round and for him and his team that set the tempo for the rest of the season. Burba then went onto win the Sunday race with his Dad and Grandpa in attendance on Father’s Day making a memory that will last a lifetime.
The next 3 races saw Burba pick up some very hard-fought round wins, including a semi-final finish and a runner-up, that clinched his first ever National Trail Raceway track championship and the first ever Quick 16 powered by Performance Clinic Series championship.
“I would not have won this championship if it wasn’t for the love and support of my beautiful wife, Emily, my parents Lisa and Greg and my grandparents Dave and Jaqui. Also, to all my friends that have always been there for me whenever I needed hand,” said Ryan Burba. “My sponsors Performance Clinic Custom Engines, Bazell Race Fuels, Ryan Burba Designs, Dykes and Strippers Custom Wiring and Fleet Graphics, without them I wouldn’t be able to race.”
Burba has a very busy schedule planned for next year, as he plans on defending his title at National Trail Raceway, racing at the Quick 16 races at Kil-Kare, racing some of the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events and trying his hand racing at the PDRA.
Congrats to Ryan Burba the 2020 Quick 16 powered by Performance Clinic Series champion!
